MIMS Australia 2011 Pharmacy Intern of the Year award
Do you know an Intern who is showing outstanding performance in their development as a professional pharmacist in community or hospital practice?
If so, then why not nominate them for the MIMS Australia NSW 2011 PSA Intern of the Year Award?
The NSW Branch of PSA continues to recognize intern’s achievements at a State level and the MIMS Australia NSW 2011 PSA Intern of the Year Award recognises the achievements of an exceptional intern in developing skills for their professional career; those who are striving to raise standards and who through their professionalism provide a model of practice standards.
Three candidates will be nominated as finalists from the outcome of the interview process and each finalist will be provided with the following:
- 1 night’s complimentary accommodation (Saturday 17th March 2012) at the Fairmont Leura, Blue Mountains NSW
- Complimentary Weekend Registration to March Weekend 2012
- Attendance at the PSA NSW Annual Dinner (finalist and 1 accompanying guest)
MIMS Australia is the principal sponsor for the award and will be contributing the prize of $2,000 to be used for winner’s future career development.
The winner will be recognised by the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia as the MIMS Australia NSW 2011 PSA Intern of the Year and will receive a Certificate.
The winner will be announced at the 2012 NSW Pharmacy Dinner, to be held at Fairmont Resort, Leura on Saturday, 17 March 2012,as part of the NSW 2012 Annual Therapeutic Update – March Weekend – “Caring ‘bout your generation – Bubs to boomers and beyond”
Nominations for the MIMS Australia NSW 2011 PSA Intern of the Year Award are now being sought.
The following criteria may be used for your nomination:
- Positive attitude and a commitment to learn and instruct in the work environment
- Well informed of legal requirements and applies sound ethical and professional principles
- Competent in the practical application of theoretical knowledge
- Assumes responsibility for the proper management of dispensary and general pharmacy procedures
- Readily accepts opportunities to become involved in community or hospital activities and pharmacy programs
- Has a pleasant and empathetic manner when dealing with customers/patients
- Demonstrates a commitment to life long learning
- Has a good rapport with other members of staff, colleagues and other health care professionals
- Applies and adapts professional guidelines for effective communication and optimal patient care
