Pharmacy and Pharmacist Only Medicines (S2/S3) competency unit
This unit of competency is from the Certificate II/III in Community Pharmacy qualification (SIR20107/SIR30107). Demonstrated competency for this unit meets Quality Care Pharmacy Program (QCPP) compliance for the relevant standard.
The PSA offers an ‘assessment-only’ option, where a student can complete a written assessment to demonstrate competency. A report completed by their supervising pharmacist is submitted in conjunction with the written assessment to form evidence of competency.
Pre-requisites for ‘assessment-only’
- Minimum three months (full time or equivalent) pharmacy work experience*
- Currently working in a community pharmacy (as part of the assessment takes place in the workplace)
- Language, literacy and numeracy skills at Year 10 level (or equivalent).
Fee: $150 (or PSA Affiliate member rate: $110).
* A free interactive CD-ROM is available for students with less than three months’ pharmacy work experience It contains the required underpinning knowledge for this unit and has interactive activities to assist the learner in assessing if they understand the information, and to prepare for the assessment.
