PSA Lifetime Achievement Award

The PSA Lifetime Achievement Award recognises the recipient’s dedication to promoting excellence in the pharmacy profession over a substantial period. A lifetime achiever serves as a superior role model to their peers.

The Lifetime Achievement Award winner will be either a current PSA member or a retired pharmacist who was a member for 25 or more consecutive years.

The winner receives the prestigious PSA Lifetime Achievement Award medal, along with a Symbion Education Grant, valued at $8,000.

The prize must be take up within 12 months of receipt unless other arrangements are made during that time.

Louis Roller named as PSA Lifetime Achievement Award recipient

10 October 2014 A Victorian academic pharmacist who has been one of the country’s leading drivers in developing Quality Use of Medicines standards as well as recognising the value of partnerships between pharmacists, GPs and patients has been named as the 2014 recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the PSA’s Excellence Awards announced in Canberra today.

2012 Lifetime Achievement Award: Colin Trevena

Tasmanian pharmacist Colin Trevena was a leading innovator in the development of personal records systems and counselling materials. Colin was recognised as being a ‘revolutionary’ who developed a patient record card system which paved the way for the introduction of the computerised systems which are now part of the everyday environment in Australia’s community pharmacies. Mr Trevena said he was surprised at being named for the honour, as he was not aware he had been nominated.

2011 Lifetime Achievement Award winner: Professor Andrew Gilbert

South Australian pharmacist Professor Andrew Gilbert is the 2011 recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. Professor Gilbert, who is Director, Quality Use of Medicines and Pharmacy Research Centre at the Sansom Institute at the University of South Australia, was nominated for, among other achievements, his work as a pioneer, role model and selfless advocate of the pharmacy profession over a period spanning some 40 years.
