Graduate Certificate in Applied Pharmacy Practice

You will receive a Graduate Certificate in Applied Pharmacy Practice (10448NAT) on completion of your PSA Intern Training Program to better position you for your career. You are not required to undertake any additional units or assessments.

On successful completion of the qualification, you will be entitled to use the post nominal GradCertAppPharmPrac after your name.

This qualification will build upon your knowledge in primary health care and develop essential management and strategic skills required in today’s practice.

APPCAR801A Plan, manage and deliver optimum patient care Learn to effectively assess and address the primary health care needs of patients; and to effectively access, evaluate, synthesise and disseminate medicines and health information to patients, carers and other health professionals.
APPRSK802A Manage risk in pharmacy practice Learn to develop and implement systems and procedures to manage risk in the pharmacy in order to meet the legal, ethical, financial and professional obligations in pharmacy practice.
APPPRO803A Manage and resolve complex and sensitive problems Learn to manage and resolve complex and sensitive problems using advanced communication skills and applying privacy, confidentiality, cultural competence and ethical principles of professional pharmacy practice.
APPSTR804A Develop and implement a public health education strategy Plan, develop, lead and evaluate a public health education strategy.
BSBWOR501 Manage personal work priorities and professional development Develop management skills required in today’s business environment, including technical skills, interpersonal skills and conceptual skills. This course will highlight the importance of planning activities to ensure success including business plans, operational plans and monitoring plans. It will offer strategies to improve time management skills.
BSBMGT502          Manage people performance Become a competent people manager. Effective people management relies on a high level of leadership and the ability to create an open communication environment. This unit also encompasses tools to measure performance, such as performance indicators and appraisals. Conflict management is also a focus. The legislative framework in which the manager must work is explored.
