Several pharmacists have been applauded for receiving Queen’s Birthday Honours for their outstanding service to the pharmacy profession, the peak national body for pharmacists, the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) said today.

These outstanding pharmacists included:

  • Graham Slade MPS, from Victoria – A Member (AM) in the General Division for service to aged care, medical and multicultural associations and the pharmacy profession. Mr Slade is proprietor of Slade Pharmacy Services.
  • Harry Jones MPS, from Victoria – Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division for service to people with a disability and the pharmacy profession.

PSA National President Joe Demarte said these distinguished pharmacists, who have enjoyed long careers serving local communities and providing healthcare, were highly deserving of their honours.

“I congratulate these high-achieving pharmacists for their outstanding achievements and commitment to excellence,” Mr Demarte said.

“Being bestowed with a Queen’s Birthday Honour is a fantastic reward for many years of hard work and dedication to the pharmacy sector,” Mr Demarte said.

Mr Demarte also paid tribute to Queensland pharmacist Kos Sclavos, who received an AM in the General Division, for his significant service to the pharmacy profession through a range of retail, advisory and executive roles.

“Kos is a well-known figure among Australia’s pharmacy community and I applaud his long-standing achievements and service to the profession to receive this special honour,” Mr Demarte said.

“On behalf of PSA, I thank all of these pharmacists for their impressive dedication and service to their local communities across Australia. They are well deserving of their recognition and Awards.”
