Education Modules

Facts Behind the Fact Card

The Facts Behind the Fact Card is Self Care’s pharmacist education module. It aims to provide education and information at a comprehensive level that equip pharmacists to confidently provide accurate advice and support to their patients. It provides key ‘practice points’ and references all other complementary Self Care resources such as relevant Fact Cards and pharmacy Shelftalkers.

The module topic is usually linked to the Counter Connection education module, so learning on the topic is consistent for the pharmacy.

Pharmacists in Self Care member pharmacies are able to submit their responses to the Facts Behind the Fact Card by logging in at the top-right of this site.

For each module completed, pharmacists can earn Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points. The Facts Behind the Fact Card is in every issue of inPHARMation.

Facts Behind the Fact Card is great way for pharmacists to gain regular CPD points.

Counter Connection

Counter Connection is Self Care's pharmacy assistant education module. Counter Connection Program aims to increase knowledge of health issues and provides useful, practical information on a range of health conditions for pharmacy support staff. Each month a new module covering a different health topic is located in the inPHARMation magazine. The topics are often linked to the health conditions covered by a Fact Card and/or relevant health campaign.

Designed and delivered as a distance learning education module, each Counter Connection contains a short multiple choice assessment that participants can complete and submit to Self Care for marking and recording.

Self Care maintains a record for each and every Counter Connection participant and uses this record in providing recognition and rewards for levels of achievement in the program.  This record is accessible by pharmacists and enables them to monitor their staff's progress.

Rewards

Learning through Counter Connection provides participants with the confidence and knowledge to support the pharmacist and facilitate a positive health outcome with their customers.

In recognition of the commitment to increase knowledge on health issues, a Certificate of Achievement is awarded after successful completion of 10 Counter Connection modules.

Rewards and certificates are given at three levels:

Bronze Level - recognition of 3 years successful participation

Silver Level - recognition of 5 years successful participation

Gold Level - recognition of 7 years successful  participation
