Our new-look web site represents an exciting future for PSA as we improve on how we deliver services to our members. With a new professional design and revised menu options, the objective of our new web site is to reflect the modern, professional image of pharmacy and make it easier for our members to access PSA information and resources.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Do I need a login to use the web site?
A login is required for the Members area only and to access Online Learning if you are enrolled in a learning module for Intern Training or Certificate and Diploma courses. You do not need a login to browse our public web site if you are not a member of PSA.
How do I access the members area?
Click the Login link on the top right of the web site. If you do not have a PSA username and password but wish to preview some of our member services, you can register for a guest login. Limited access is available to non-members.
Where is the Pharmacy Bookzone and bookshop?
Pharmacy-related books and products are available in the Bookzone section of our members area. If you are not a member but wish to browse and purchase from our range of titles, you will need to register for a guest login.
How do I register for an event if I am not a member?
Event registrations are available in the members area of our web site. If you are not a member but wish to browse and register for events, workshops and seminars, you will need to register for a guest login.
How do I login to Online Learning?
You will need your PSA username and password and you will need to be enrolled in a course before you can access Online Learning. Your course facilitator or registration email will normally send you a link to the course you are enrolled in. Some courses are available to non-members through the 5CPA program and require you to register for access.
What should I do if my password doesn’t work?
PSA logins are case sensitive. Check you have entered letters using the correct uppercase or lowercase and try again. If your password still does not work you should reset your password to have a new password automatically emailed to you. Avoid trying to guess your password by trying multiple times, as you may lock yourself out after three attempts.
How do I reset my password or get a password reminder?
You can reset your password to have a new password automatically sent to your email address.
I get a password expired error when I try to reset my password
Wait for at least one hour and try again. If you enter an incorrect password more than three times, your account may be temporarily locked. This is a security protection that limits the number of times someone could try and guess your password.
How can I find out my user name?
You can reset your password to have a new password automatically emailed to you. This email includes your username. You will need have your correct email address recorded with us.
Can I reset my password if I have changed my email address?
For security reasons your password cannot be sent to a different email that the one we have on your membership record. You will need to contact your nearest Pharmaceutical Society of Australia branch on 1300 369 772 to confirm your identity and update your email address on our records. You can then reset your password to obtain access.
Where do I submit my answers for Australian Pharmacist or InPHARMation?
Click on Submit Answers Online on the front page of our web site for information about our CPD education programs and where you can submit your assessment answers.
How do I unsubscribe from email news bulletins?
All news bulletin emails from PSA include an Unsubscribe link at the end of the email. Click on the link provided in the email to unsubscribe from future news bulletins.
Why is the member’s web site different to the new web site?
The web site upgrade is being released in two stages: this first stage released in October 2011 introduces a new design with revised branding and improved access to generally available materials. The second stage, to be released early next year, replaces the existing members web site with new facilities for bookshop sales, event registrations and CPD. We’ll keep you informed of changes to our web site through our regular news bulletin service to members.
What is your privacy policy for information collected on your web site?
A link to our privacy policy is available on the front page of our web site and on the footer of most internal pages.
How do I get a username and password for the members web site?
When you become a member of PSA you will automatically receive a username and password for our web site when your application is processed. If you are not a member but wish to preview some of our member services, you can register for a guest login. Limited access is available to non-members.
Can I link to a page on the web site?
Yes, you can link to any page on our web site. Some addresses on this web site may have changed with our recent update, and you may need to update your links. Contact webmaster@psa.org.au for assistance.
Can I advertise my research study to PSA members?
Email General Inquiries with details about your project. PSA does not provide mailing lists of members, but depending on the relevancy of your project, it may be considered for inclusion in our regular email news bulletin to members.
How do I advertise a job, employment, classifieds or position wanted?
Email webmaster@psa.org.au with the required wording, contact details and closing dates. Your advertisement will be reviewed and considered for publication on our web site.
What are the minimum system requirements to use the web site?
The PSA web site will run on most desktop, notebook, terminal and mobile computers with a web browser. To help ensure efficient operation, the new PSA website has been optimised for Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 3 web browsers. We continue to test our site for compatibility other browsers such as IE9, Safari and Chrome. Javascript is required to access all functionality on our web site. Screen resolution is optimised for 1024 x 768 and higher. Mobile devices with a smaller screen resolution may be able to access the web site, but not all functionality or content may be available.
What software do I need to open downloads from your web site?
Most downloads are provided in PDF format compatible with Adobe Acrobat 9.1 or higher. Some specific documents are published in Microsoft Word format for use with Microsoft Word 2010 or a Microsoft Office compatible product such as Open Office. Some materials may require a Microsoft Powerpoint 2010 viewer. Audio files are usually produced in MP3 format suitable for use with most computer sound devices and external audio players.
Do I need javascript or cookies enabled?
You can access our public web site without javascript and cookies, however some functionality may not appear or not look as expected. Javascript and cookies are required to access the members area and Online Learning.
Will I need Flash to use the web site and what version is required?
Adobe Flash is not required to access the public or members web site, however is required to access some Online Learning materials. Adobe Flash version 10 or higher is required to access these materials.
Why do I get an error message about Adobe Flash when I try to access Online Learning?
If you have an older version of Adobe Flash installed on your computer that may have a known security vulnerability, you cannot use our Online Learning system. You must upgrade Adobe Flash to version 10 or higher, or temporarily uninstall the product, or disable the plugin through your browser’s plugin management utility, or use a different browser that does not have an old version of the Adobe Flash plugin installed. The Online Learning system checks for the version of the Adobe Flash plugin before or when you log in, and displays this error if an old version of the plugin is installed.
I get an error when I try to upload files to My Files in Online Learning
File size uploads are limited to 100GB and some file types are restricted, such as program code that could introduce viruses or create security vulnerabilities in our system. You may also have exceeded your usage limit.
How do I get the video on your web site to play?
You will require an MPEG-4 compatible media player plug-in installed in your web browser to view video material (eg. Windows Media Player, Real Player or Quicktime). Adobe Flash version 10 or higher is required to access some Online Learning material. Flash may not be available on some mobile device platforms and Apple devices such as iPhones and iPads.
