The immunisation update for pharmacists 2017 provides pharmacist immunisers with current and relevant information to ensure that they are prepared to commence vaccinating patients for the upcoming flu season.

Learning objectives

After completing this activity, pharmacists should be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the influenza disease
  • Describe the differences between trivalent and quadrivalent vaccinations
  • Discuss why annual influenza vaccination is required
  • Discuss dosing considerations when administering adrenaline (epinephrine) for an anaphylactic reaction
  • Demonstrate knowledge of adverse event reporting.
