John L Townley: The power of ethical advertising
By Geoff Miller
One would expect that a pharmacist of the stature of John Townley MPS would
lead by example when it came to business principles and advertising morals.
He had been President of the Pharmaceutical Society of NSW in 1927-28, and among other official positions on various professional bodies, he was also a foundation member of the Council of the Guild.
John L Townley MPS.
John Townley would do nothing but inspire confidence in his dispensing ability, and the very tone of the wording is informative
and reassuring.
It is also historically interesting, as the alarm bell on the poison cabinet was an alternative warning device to the multitude of patented ribbed poison bottles.
A John Townley circular.
