McDonald’s Pharmacy in Casino NSW, pictured in August 1956, boasts a classical shop front so typical of the period.
It brings together the tiling, the Ipana banners on each window, the ‘Chemist Only’ products on display and the photographic gear so strongly associated with pharmacy in those days.
The happy chappy adorning the doorway is Keith McDonald, the proprietor’s son, who graduated from Sydney University in 1954.
If you have a picture of an interesting shop front or building pediment, and can add a few words about its history and location, we would love to publish it.
