Quality Use of Medicines

As the professional organisation representing all pharmacists, irrespective of their place of practice, PSA strongly advocates for initiatives that support quality use of medicines and medicines safety.

 

Quality use of medicines and medicines safety is one of the four central pillars of Australia’s 2022 National Medicines Policy (NMP) and is a National Health Priority.

 

The intended outcomes from this NMP pillar include1:

 

  • Empowering individuals to actively participate in shared decision-making and
  • Ensuring health professionals commit to, are trained and proactively supported to implement programs and initiatives to achieve the safe and quality use of medicines.

 

PSA is committed to promoting excellence in healthcare and empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their health by ensuring access to accurate and up-to-date information.
