PSA Membership Terms and Conditions

Welcome to the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia.

 

By joining and becoming a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (hereinafter referred to as “PSA”), you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions. Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before completing your membership application or accessing any services provided by PSA.

 

1. Eligibility for Membership

To become a member of PSA, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

 

  1. Hold or be eligible to hold one of the following types of registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia:

• General

• Limited

• Provisional

• Non-Practicing

 

2. Agree to abide by PSA’s Constitution. A copy is available here Constitution of PSA

If your application is accepted, PSA will provide interim access to all member-related systems and benefits until final membership is approved by the PSA Board of Directors.

 

2. Membership Responsibilities

As a PSA member, you must:

• Abide by PSA’s Code of Ethics (available via the PSA website) and maintain your registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia at all times.

• Ensure your contact information remains accurate and up to date in PSA’s records

• Pay membership fees as outlined in the Membership Fees section below.

• Comply with PSA’s Constitution.

 

3. Membership Fees & Payment Terms

Membership Structure

Membership is ongoing, served in 12-month terms, and automatically renews unless you choose to opt out before your membership anniversary date.

Graduate Membership is valid while a Graduate member has provisional AHPRA registration prior to becoming a general AHPRA registered pharmacist.

Student Membership remains active until graduation.

 

PSA and the Board reserve the right to amend the categories of membership (and the rights and responsibilities attached to each) from time to time.

 

Payment Options

• Membership fees are non-refundable and can be paid:

Annually (lump sum payment for the full 12-month term).

Monthly (installments over the 12-month term).

• Monthly payment plans establish a debtor relationship, with the full annual fee owed and paid in monthly installments.

• Once activated, membership cannot be canceled mid-term, and all payments must be completed for the full 12-month period.

 

Renewal & Fee Adjustments

General Membership will automatically renew unless the member provides notice to PSA before their renewal date.

• PSA will send renewal reminders 30 days prior to the membership anniversary date.

• Membership fees are subject to change, and members will be notified at least 30 days in advance of any fee adjustments.

 

4. Ending Membership

Members may opt out of renewing their membership at any time before the membership term ends. However, the membership will remain active until the end of its 12-month term.

 

Annual Payment Members:

• Membership remains active until the end of the paid 12-month term.

• Membership will not automatically renew if the member has opted out.

• Members have up to 60 days after the-membership expiry date to reactivate their membership without rejoining.

• If reactivated within this 60-day period, the new membership term will be backdated to the original expiry and any unpaid membership arrears must be paid.

• If reactivation does not occur within this 60-day period, membership will be cancelled.

 

Monthly Payment Members:

• Membership remains active for the entire 12-month term, with payments continuing monthly until the term ends.

• Membership will not automatically renew if the member opts out.

• Members have up to 60 days after the membership expiry date to reactivate their membership without rejoining.

• If reactivated within this period, the new membership term will be backdated to the original expiry date and any arrears in membership fees must be paid.

 

5. Member Termination and Suspension

PSA reserves the right to terminate or suspend membership at its sole discretion for the following reasons:

Failure to pay membership fees within 60 days of the due date.

Violation of PSA’s Code of Conduct, Terms and Conditions, or other PSA policies.

• Engagement in behavior that could harm PSA’s reputation, community, or operations.

Failure to maintain active registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.

• As permitted in the PSA Constitution.

 

Members will be notified by email if their membership is terminated or suspended. No refunds will be provided in such cases.

 

6. Privacy and Data Protection

PSA values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. By becoming a member, you consent to the collection, use, and processing of your personal information in accordance with PSA’s Privacy Policy. You can review the Privacy Policy at PSA Privacy Policy

 

7. Intellectual Property

• All content provided by PSA, including but not limited to logos, trademarks, event materials, and online resources, is protected by intellectual property laws.

• Members are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use PSA’s materials for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

 

8. Limitation of Liability

PSA shall not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of its services, including, but not limited to:

• Loss of data

• Loss of income

• Loss of membership privileges

    • Errors or omissions in the services provided

 

9. Amendments to the Terms and Conditions

PSA reserves the right to amend or update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated via email and the PSA website and will take effect immediately unless stated otherwise.

 

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with PSA’s Constitution.
