PSA Intern Training Programs

Students can enrol at any time of the year and are separated into two intakes depending on their enrolment date: 

• First intake: 1 October – 31 March 

• Second intake: 1 April – 30 September 

You will receive an email when your enrolment has been confirmed. You can then access your course via the following steps:  

1. Login in at my.psa.org.au 
2. Click on My Courses & Training and select intern program under Not Started or In Progress. 
3. This will open another page, scroll down and press the launch button to access your course. 

Training is delivered via mixed delivery. Interns will complete face-to-face and online workshops in their registered state, as well as online assessments and learning. This is also complemented with workplace-based assessments completed at your Approved Supervised Practice site. 

Potential interns must supply evidence confirming they: 

• hold provisional registration, and 

• have an AHPRA approved preceptor, and 

• Have an AHPRA approved supervised practice location 

The course can be completed in a minimum period of 9 months up to a maximum period of 24 months. Our trainers and assessors can work with you to accommodate submission dates if required. Extensions beyond two years are considered on a case-by-case basis. 

We offer training sessions as part of the training workshops including one session on the written exam and multiple sessions on the oral exam. 

Interns have access to two extra written exam modules (optional) and six mock exams for the oral exam, as well as the new Audirie AI-powered exam scenarios. They also have access to the Learner Support team and the trainer and assessors for any questions they might have about the exams. 

A preceptor is a pharmacist with General Registration who is responsible for the overall supervision and development of the intern. 

Interns must attend all required workshops (face-to-face and online).
