Changes to PSA Pharmacy Assistant Training FAQs

About these changes

Late last year, the Australian College of Pharmacy , including ACP Training, were acquired by the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA). Both organisations deliver pharmacy assistant training, and PSA is now consolidating this training under PSA’s registered training organisation (RTO 122206).

The trainers and staff you already know and work with at ACP Training remain the same, but are now employed by PSA. You may notice emails are coming from PSA email accounts, but your training support team has not changed.

On 3 August 2026, all new enrolments for PSA Pharmacy Assistant Training will be into the new Learning Management System (LMS) – Cloud Asses.

ACP Training will continue to deliver its version of the training while learners are moved across to PSA. We expect all ACP Training learners to be transferred to PSA by December 2026, in stages, with RTO 0452 (ACP Training) formally closing shortly after this is complete.

For learners being transferred, it will be the same qualification, the same trainers, and the same experience you’re used to, just delivered through PSA. Your Trainer/Assessor will work with you throughout your transfer to make sure your studies aren’t negatively impacted.

If you’re used to PSA’s current course delivery, we expect you’ll see real benefits from these changes too, including faster enrolment and quicker turnaround on marking.

If you enrolled through PSA

This section is for students and pharmacy owners who have dealt directly with PSA (RTO 122206) for enrolment, invoicing, and course access.

What is changing for me?

At this stage, nothing is changing for students currently enrolled in PSA’s Pharmacy Assistant Training. You will continue in your current learning environment. You will be notified directly if a transfer into the new learning environment becomes necessary, but there is no plan at this stage.

What about new units or qualifications I enrol in?

This depends on whether you’re starting a brand new qualification enrolment or continuing one you’ve already started:

New qualification enrolment: If you enrol in the qualification from 3 August 2026, it will be delivered on the new platform under PSA’s RTO.

New unit within an existing qualification enrolment: If you’re already enrolled and simply moving on to your next unit within that same qualification, you’ll stay in your current learning environment until that qualification is complete.

When does PSA's Pharmacy Assistant Training open for new enrolments?

PSA’s Pharmacy Assistant Training opens for new enrolments on 3 August 2026. From that date, all new enrolments are on the new platform.

Will the price change?

PSA and ACP Training have historically had different pricing structures. Pricing for the training is changing and will be published on the PSA website. Your agreed fee will not change mid-enrolment.

I am a Chemist Warehouse student. Will these changes affect me?

At this stage there will be no changes for Chemist Warehouse learners. You will be contacted directly if anything changes regarding your learning.

Who do I contact if I have questions?

If you enrolled through ACP Training

At this stage there will be no changes for Chemist Warehouse learners. You will be contacted directly if anything changes regarding your learning.

What is happening to ACP Training's RTO?

ACP Training’s RTO will eventually close. PSA plans to have all ACP Training learners transferred across to PSA by December 2026, in a staged approach over the coming months. ACP Training’s RTO (RTO 0452) will formally close shortly after this transition is complete.

Please note: Your training support team has and will not change. The trainers and staff you already know and work with at ACP Training are now employed by PSA and will continue supporting you through this transition.

Can I still enrol through ACP Training?

New enrolments into the ACP Training-delivered qualifications will close on 31 July 2026. From 3 August 2026, all new enrolments will be into PSA’s Pharmacy Assistant Training.

I am currently enrolled through ACP Training. What happens to me?

Learners enrolled into ACP Training will be transferred to PSA’s Pharmacy Assistant Training progressively between 3 August and the end of the year. December 2026 is when we expect all ACP Training learners to have moved across. Transfers will be staged, and the timing for each learner depends on factors including where they are in their qualification and, for some learners, requirements set by state training funders (see “I am a State or Commonwealth funded trainee” below).

PSA will work with each affected learner individually. Your existing Trainer/Assessor will:

  • lead this conversation with you,
  • remain your trainer after you’ve been transferred, and
  • work with you throughout the process to make sure your studies aren’t negatively impacted.

What does it mean to be “transferred”?

Being transferred to PSA means that your learning activity will move from your current ACP Training Cloud Assess account to a new PSA-branded Cloud Assess account. In practice, this means:

What will transfer: your student profile, qualification enrolment, unit of competency records, and completed assessment results.

What it means for you: you’ll be asked to set up a new Cloud Assess login. While the branding will change, the learning environment looks and works the same, and your training content and delivery don’t change.

If you’ve started a unit but haven’t completed it, any in-progress work may not transfer automatically. To avoid losing any work, we recommend completing any units you’ve started before your transfer date.

How will I know if I need to be transferred?

Your trainer will reach out to you personally to talk through the timing of your transfer. Most learners will be transferred in stages between 3 August and December 2026. If you’re studying under state funding, your transfer may need to happen sooner. This is because some state training funders require this—your trainer will let you know if this applies to you. You do not need to self-identify or take any action to initiate a transfer. If you want to discuss your situation sooner, you are welcome to contact PSA’s Learner Suppot team.

Will I lose any of my progress if I am transferred?

PSA’s aim is that no student loses recognised progress because of the transition. To help with this, it’s best to complete any units you’ve already started before your transfer date, as in-progress work may not be able to be carried across.

In the lead-up to your transfer, your trainer will work with you to make sure any units you’ve started are finished and recorded, so you receive credit for everything you’ve completed.

I am a State or Commonwealth funded trainee. What happens to my Training Contract?

PSA is working with each State Training Authority (STA) to determine the steps required to transfer your Training Contract to PSA. You may be asked to sign documentation to agree to the transition. Either PSA or your Apprenticeship Network representative will contact you with the specific requirements for your Training Contract.

Some state training funders require learners to be transferred to PSA sooner than others. If this applies to you, your Trainer/Assessor or the PSA Learner Support Team will let you know and talk you through the timing.

Will I need to redo enrolment, LLN, or induction when I transfer to PSA?

This may vary from state to state, depending on the requirements of your local State Training Authority (STA). PSA will make this process as quick and smooth as possible for learners and employers. Either PSA’s Learner Support team or your Trainer/Assessor will let you know if anything is required of you.

Will the price change?

PSA and ACP Training have historically had different pricing structures. Pricing for the training is changing and will be published on the PSA website. Your agreed fee with ACP Training will not change mid-enrolment.

I am a pharmacy owner with multiple staff enrolled through ACP Training. How will this work for my team?

PSA will contact each student individually to arrange a transfer if required. Where multiple staff members are affected, PSA will coordinate these transfers in a way that minimises disruption to your business.

If your business receives any employer incentives connected to a traineeship, please raise this with PSA’s Learner Support team directly so they can confirm how the transition affects your arrangements.

I am a workplace supervisor for an ACP Training-enrolled student. Will I still be able to access the supervisor evidence report?

Supervisors play an important role in the training process, and maintaining your access to complete the supervisor evidence report is a priority for PSA as part of this transition.

Existing supervisor logins continue to work as normal. When a learner you supervise is transferred to PSA, PSA’s Learner Support team will identify your access to that learner’s account and move it across as well. You’ll likely be issued a new Cloud Assess login. But how you access and complete the supervisor evidence report will stay much the same.
