Gout

Gout presents a significant burden for many people in Australia, with prevalence rates ranging between 4.5% and 6.8%, particularly affecting males and certain ethnic groups.

Despite its high prevalence, gout is often undertreated, contributing to significant avoidable pain, disability and impaired quality of life for affected individuals.

There is a significant opportunity for pharmacists to positively impact gout management by ensuring the quality use of medicines.

Working with consumers and medical experts, we have developed a range of evidence-informed education interventions and resources to support improved quality use of eczema medicines and treatment strategies.
