Victorian pharmacist Pooja Sharma named PSA Symbion Early Career Pharmacist of the Year

The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) has named Melbourne pharmacist, Pooja Sharma MPS, the 2026 PSA Symbion Early Career Pharmacist of the Year for her exceptional leadership and commitment to improving patient care.  

 

The PSA Symbion Early Career Pharmacist of the Year Award recognises an emerging pharmacist who has demonstrated excellence in pharmacy practice research, and or innovation, and have contributed to advancing pharmacy practice.  

 

PSA National President, Professor Mark Naunton MPS, congratulated Ms Sharma on being named the PSA Symbion Early Career Pharmacist of the Year and acknowledged the importance of recognising early career pharmacists on their successes.  

 

“Ms Sharma has been recognised for developing pharmacist-led models of care, delivering medication review services across Victoria and the Northern Territory, supporting more than 700 patients through pharmacist-led primary care services, and providing care to underserved and high-risk populations,” Professor Naunton said.  

 

“In a relatively short period of time, she has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to the profession and patients, working across community pharmacy, aged care and medication review services. 

 

“I congratulate Pooja on her recognition and look forward to seeing her continue to drive patient care throughout her pharmacy journey.”
