Western Australian pharmacist named 2026 PSA Locumate Locum Pharmacist of the Year

The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) has awarded Western Australian pharmacist, Alistair Kasimi MPS, with the 2026 PSA Locummate Locum Pharmacist of the Year, for his outstanding contribution to patient care and workforce sustainability in regional communities.

 

The PSA Locummate Locum Pharmacist of the Year recognises the impact locum pharmacists make all over Australia.

 

PSA National President, Professor Mark Naunton MPS, congratulated Mr Kasimi on receiving this award.

 

“Locum pharmacists are a vital part of Australia’s pharmacy profession, filling short- and long-term staffing needs resulting from an increased demand for pharmacists across the country,” Professor Naunton said.

 

“Mr Kasimi has continued to step up and provide uninterrupted pharmacy services throughout regional Western Australia during periods of significant shortages. His dedication to the profession ensures local pharmacies can remain open, providing communities with access to healthcare.

 

“I extend my congratulations to Alistair on this award and wish to thank him, on behalf of the profession, for his contributions to maintaining access to healthcare, particularly for regional Australians, during periods of workforce shortages.”
