PSA Accreditation CPD

The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) accredits continuing professional development (CPD) activities against the PSA Standards for Continuing Professional Development for Pharmacists, active from the 5th January 2026. These Standards guide the quality and educational integrity expected of continuing pharmacist education.

Accreditation of CPD activities provides assurance to pharmacists that an activity has been reviewed for its educational quality and relevance to a pharmacist’s practice.

The PSA Accredited CPD frameworkincludes an accreditation assessment process of CPD activities conducted by trained accreditation assessors. The program, and process for assessment, is:

  • Transparent – the PSA CPD team assess CPD activities against the PSA Standards for Continuing Professional Development for Pharmacists (2026).
  • Confidential – All information supplied to the PSA CPD team by CPD activity providers is treated as confidential.
  • Honest – All PSA employees involved in the accreditation process act with integrity and do not promote self-interest when accrediting CPD activities.
  • Consistent – the PSA CPD team conduct regular internal reviews for quality assurance to ensure consistency of accreditation decisions and the accreditation process.

The accreditation assessment process of a CPD activity can take up to 20 business days. This timeframe is dependent on the completeness of applications, including provision of supporting evidence to demonstrate how the activity meets the PSA Standards for Continuing Professional Development for Pharmacists. A fast-tracked option taking 10 business days is available and attracts an additional fee.
